Meet Kolanda
Kolanda discovered her gift of writing and storytelling at an early age. She attended college to expand her knowledge and fine-tune her natural abilities. She has a Master of Science degree in Mass Media Arts and Journalism and a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with a minor in English. She is truly a woman after God's heart. She shares her love for Christ and her adventures in marriage, motherhood and ministry as a modern woman of faith through her monthly blog, Confessions of A Church Girl, and through mentoring and coaching young women.
On March 13, 2017, Kolanda launched the Well Women Movement, formerly known as the Church Girls Movement, after the long-awaited release of her debut book entitled the same. The movement was birth out of her struggle as a "church girl" to live according to Godly standards in a world that battled everything she believed. That war left Kolanda trying to discover how to enjoy salvation and live.
Through the Well Woman Movement, Kolanda helps women of faith detox from religious limiting beliefs, damaging systems, toxic philosophies and biblically opposed doctrine so they can rebuild their faith, reignite their purpose, and reimagine the way they see church. Kolanda also serves young women by writing books that encourage, developing resources that educate, and hosting events to be a guide, a solution and a testimony. She believes authenticity and transparency are essential to transforming generational mindsets and creating paradigm shifts. For these reasons, she openly and boldly showcases her scars so others can avoid scars of their own.
Kolanda is an award-winning author and orator and certified life coach. In 2019, she received the ACHI Magazine Author of the Year and Orator of the Year awards. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Kolanda now resides in Jacksonville, Florida with her family.
