We had church!
I’m going to say something about The Well 2024 that I’ve never said about any other event I’ve ever hosted: WE. HAD. CHURCH. 🫣
I’ve been so shy about fully expressing what we experienced at The Well this month for fear of who it might offend, who might be triggered, who might envious, who might be jealous, or who might feel compelled to compete. But after two weeks of reflection, I honestly can’t describe what occurred any other way but to say, “We had church!”.
This year’s retreat was one of the hardest, but perfect, ministry events I’ve ever hosted. And it wasn’t perfect because everything went smoothly. In fact, this event required the most faith, financial investment, spiritual submission, and physical strength I’ve ever had to offer in response to God’s instruction. And yet, it was perfect because we experienced Matthew 18:20 in real time: “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
As a result of a small group of women gathering together in His name, we experienced the presence of God in a tangible way. Sis, we had praise and worship, preaching, teaching, altar call with the laying of hands, healing, deliverance, prophecy, testimony service, and so much more! I’m not saying we had church because it felt like church. No, this was more than goosebumps and an emotionally charged atmosphere. We had church because several biblical purposes of the church were experienced at The Well such as:
To proclaim the Kingdom of God with visible demonstrations of power. (Acts 8:5-7)
To make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19-20)
To manifest the life of the kingdom. (Matthew 16:19)
To manifest the authority and power of the kingdom. (Acts 1:8)
To expand the kingdom of God. (Ephesians 4:11–15)
This year’s retreat was so affirming for me. It provided the validation I needed to continue with the ministry God has entrusted to me. It also solidified the way I see myself as a woman of faith. I’m so shaken by God’s use of me at The Well that I’ve changed my bio! I’m not just a “Hope Dealer,” I’m a Bible Teacher, a Minister, and the Founder of the Well Woman Movement. From now on, I’m embracing how He sees me, no limits, no boundaries, no apologies. So, here’s to planning, curating, and hosting more safe spaces for women of faith burdened with the weight of failures, disappointment, trauma, unmet expectations, etc. Meet me at The Well…
P.S. The Well 2024 was so perfect we can’t wait to do it again next year! But if you can’t wait until July 2025, you can join us for A Day at The Well in January!!🥳 If you want to attend, email us here to learn more and save $50 when you register by October 30.
