Happy New Year?

Is it too late to say that?

Honestly, I've just been waiting for the perfect time to post a blog but since January 1, 2025, there hasn't been a "good" time because of all the things happening politically, socially, culturally, and even environmentally.

In January, the country was literally on fire and freezing at the same time. The world is divided morally and racially.

The current political climate is breaking up families and longstanding friendships, all while exposing hidden agendas, attitudes, and behaviors.

The message of hope is being watered down because the church is too preoccupied with pitting one sin against another.

Now, in February, civil rights are on trial, thousands are suddenly unemployed, and planes are literally falling out of the sky. And the month isn’t even over yet!

So, in the words of the song: “Tragedies are commonplace. All kind of diseases, people are slipping away. The economy is [dwindling], people can’t [find] enough [eggs]. But as for me, all I can say is, “Thank you Lord for all you’ve done for me!”

That will be my testimony this year: Thank you Lord for all you’ve done for me!

Instead of focusing on the terrible things happening in the world, I’m choosing to focus on how the terrible things demonstrate God’s sovereignty and power.

For example, if sudden wildfires can ignite, then so can sudden healing, sudden deliverance, sudden financial blessings, etc. If Flu, COVID, RSV can spread rapidly simply due to proximity, then so can joy, peace, strength, etc. If God can shut down the whole world through one disease, then what can’t He do with overwhelming debt, with racist and discriminatory systems, with biased and unfair practices, with wickedness in high places, etc.? Do you see where I'm going here?

Whatever happens this year, we will testify.
