The Spirit of Religion
This month has been special for two reasons:
I celebrated another birthday on September 22nd. God is good and I’m grateful!
I confronted several deep-seated fears. I believe it was something I had to do before I could fully embrace this new year of life.
A few weeks ago I was a guest on the Therapy as a Christian Podcast with Roslyn Rene, a mental health professional. We got all the way through the interview and once recording stopped, an impromptu therapy session began. I suddenly felt the freedom, and the urge, to unload. Once I finished, Roslyn explained that I seemed to be wrestling against the spirit of religion and encouraged me to set time to fast and pray.
My fears felt like a weight so I was willing to do whatever was necessary to gain relief. So, I began a fast, intentionally seeking Jesus over religion. During that time I realized I had to:
Trade the religious rules and limiting beliefs for freedom
Pursue my faith as devotion rather than obligation
Learn to see my purpose as a delight instead of a duty
Stop allowing fear to have more influence than the Spirit working through me
As my fast came to an end, I began thinking about other women of faith facing the same battle. The woman who is afraid to sacrifice normalcy and religious protocol to allow the Lord to work in and through her. The woman who is ignoring her call to ministry because it goes against the rules of her denomination of faith. The woman who is suppressing her purpose because her Pastor doesn’t recognize or accept her anointing.
Sis, if you’ve allowed religion to hold you back, box you in, and keep you from living in the fullness, freedom and power of God, now is the time to be free. How? You need to detox!
Specifically, you need The Religious Detox! I’ve designed this three-step program to help you learn, unlearn and relearn to rebuild your faith, reignite your purpose, and reimagine your view of church. Inside this six-week course you’ll learn how to detox from bad protocol, outdated beliefs, and limiting beliefs that have blocked you from being the woman God created you to be beforetime.
Enrollment begins October 4th, class begins January 11, 2022!
